Michael D. Luce

Mr. Luce joined HMC in 1995 and serves as its President & COO.  Before joining the firm, Mr. Luce worked with Bear Stearns & Company, where he served as a member of the Commitment Committee, Chairman of the Equity Committee, and as a Senior Managing Director in the New York office. While with Bear Stearns, Mr. Luce primarily focused on mergers, buyouts, and debt and equity transactions for public and private companies. He serves on the Board of Directors of Presidential Financial Corporation, Dent-A-Med and Children's Harbor. Mr. Luce holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.

Donald R. Beard

Mr. Beard joined HMC in 2002.  He previously served as a Principal and Managing Director of Matrix Capital Markets Group, Inc. He has approximately ten years of turnaround and reorganization experience, having held interim senior management positions in several turnaround situations. In addition, Mr. Beard served as the Chief Operating Officer of Stewart Foods, a Virginia-based public food manufacturer and distributor.

Michael A. Rowland

Before joining HMC in 2002, Mr. Rowland served as a Managing Director of Matrix Capital Markets Group, Inc. Earlier in his career, he worked for Coopers and Lybrand, LLC as a manager of the financial advisory services group for the Carolinas region. Mr. Rowland has twelve years of experience in operations and management consulting. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Winston H. Gillum, Jr.

Prior to joining HMC in May 1998, Mr. Gillum was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, Inc. From 1989 to 1992, Mr. Gillum was an accountant at Ernst & Young, focusing on middle market industrial companies. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Alabama and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Management Accountant.

J. David Harper

Mr. Harper joined HMC in 2006 as a Director of Investments.  Before joining HMC, he was with Comcast Corporation where he worked in Corporate Development.  Prior to working at Comcast, Mr. Harper was a Vice President of Investment Banking at Legg Mason Wood Walker, Inc.  Mr. Harper holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Kevin P. Grebe

Mr. Grebe joined HMC in 2007 as a Director of Investments. Previously, he was a senior manager in the Transaction Services group of KPMG, LLP and also served as Director of Corporate Development and Strategy for Global Payments, Inc. Mr. Grebe is a Certified Public Accountant. He earned a Masters of Accountancy degree from the University of Georgia and received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Appalachian State University.

R. Lee Bryan

Mr. Bryan joined HMC in 2007 as a Senior Associate. Prior to joining HMC, he was a management consultant with the Private Equity Practice Group of Bain & Co. He also served in engineering and management roles with The Proctor & Gamble Company and Delta Airlines. Mr. Bryan has a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Emily T. Forman

Ms. Forman joined HMC in 2008 as a Senior Associate. Prior to joining HMC, she was a management consultant with The Parthenon Group in Boston. She has a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Washington and Lee University.

D. Anne Liles

Ms. Liles joined HMC in 2005 as a Senior Analyst. She received her undergraduate degree at Washington & Lee University and was previously employed as a financial analyst in the leveraged finance group of Wachovia Securities.

Eric E. Essary

Mr. Essary joined HMC in May of 2006 as a Senior Analyst.  Before joining HMC, he was a senior analyst in the Basic Industrial Group of Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin.  Prior to joining Houlihan Lokey, Mr. Essary was a financial analyst with Wachovia Securities.  Mr. Essary earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of the South (Sewanee).

H. Pettus Randall

Mr. Randall joined HMC in 2007 as a Senior Analyst. He was previously with Merrill Lynch’s Media & Telecommunications Investment Banking Group as an analyst. He holds a master of studies in modern history from Oxford University and a bachelor of arts degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.

Charles S. Plauchè, Jr.

Mr. Plauche joined HMC in June 2006 as an Analyst.  Before joining HMC, he served as a commercial portfolio manager with the corporate banking group at Regions Bank.  He also served with the capital markets group of SouthTrust Securities, now Wachovia Securities.  Mr. Plauche earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from the University of Mississippi.

C. Baxter Lee

Mr. Lee joined HMC in 2008 as a Financial Analyst. He was formerly an assistant vice president in the healthcare finance group of Merrill Lynch Capital. He holds a degree in business administration from Washington and Lee University.
